Here in the US, it is easy to say that amongst TT players, the ethnic Chinese are the most numerous. Well, it's pretty much that way in Southeast Asia too, at least if you use Malaysia as a gauge. However, here's one non-ethnic-Chinese who managed to work his way to the top of the Malaysian TT rankings:
Things have worked out rather well for Mohd Shakirin. On Sunday all his hard work and dedication to a sport dominated by the Chinese finally paid off.
He created history by becoming the first non-Chinese to win the Men's National Table Tennis Championship singles title.
